The department holds training on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 7:00 P.M. at the Brownsdale VFD Fire Station, 402 S. Mill St. Additional training is held as needed.

It also was a busy year for training.  Our most recent recruits were able to complete the certification process to test to the level of Firefighter II to validate their training.  This certification came along with our monthly training from Riverland Community College to include, ARMER Radios, Physicals, Mayo One Landing Zones, HazMat Ops, Geography / Radios, Search and Rescue, Energy Pipeline, Grid Searches, Equipment and Policy, Equipment, First Arriving Officer and OSHA Topics.  Our Emergency Medical Responders continue to train every other month to keep up our licensing and skills.  This training is delivered by the Southeastern MN Emergency Medical Services Group. To help offset the cost of all this training the MN Board of Firefighter Training awarded us funds to be used for much of this training.  We are grateful for their assistance.
