Welcome!
The Brownsdale Volunteer Fire Department
is located in southern Minnesota in the City of Brownsdale. Our service area has a population of nearly 1600 people. The Brownsdale Volunteer
Fire Department has a volunteer Chief, Assistant Chief, Lieutenant, Capitan, and 16 volunteer firefighters to serve the service
area's residents in the event of an emergency.
The
Brownsdale Volunteer Fire Department is a volunteer organization founded in 1948 and contracted to provide life and property
protection from natural and accidental disasters within the City of Brownsdale, Red Rock, and part of Waltham Townships in
conjunction with the Brownsdale Firemen's Relief Association. Our department is one of only 30 in the state of Minnesota to
be independent of the City or Townships relying only on it’s contracts for service, fund raising and donations from
it’s citizens for it’s day to day operation.
We respond
to an average of 55 emergency calls a year which consist of: emergency medical; fire suppression; and automobile accidents.
The Department has a county wide mutual aid agreement in addition to the Zumbro Valley Mutual Aid Assn.
